Eye Candy Wednesday

We do still put miniatures on the table around these parts. It’s been mostly pen and paper on the blog, but the little heroic men have been marching off to tiny little wars in the House of Wargaming. By way of make-up post, how about a few spoiler-free shots?

The scale and speed of Song of Blades and Heroes is a perfect match for the little raids that characterized the French and Indian wars. With only a dozen braves in the collection, it can make for a nice change of pace from other eras.

The F&I wars also lend themselves to scenarios beyond the classic line up.  Raids and escort missions take center stage, as does terrain dense tables that complicate the best laid plans.

The experiment with Bladestorm continues with big ogres providing an asymmetric fight against ten smaller, but no less fierce, opponents. This scenario has a very interesting method of potentially overlapping deployment zones that I’m excited to dig into a little deeper. It’s too early for any real analysis because it’s so far outside the usual. Soon, though, I promise.
