Thank Providence that God granted me the gift of being born in such times. Rebel Miniatures continues to produce a host of excellent 15mm miniatures across a wide variety of genres, and my latest big batch of 40 American Colonials is finally complete.
There are twenty more where those came from, but you get the idea. These might be older molds, and my botched prime job didn’t help the situation, resulting in a forceful of faceless soldiers. But then, these are line troops, so faceless soldiers is somewhat on brand.
The figures above and below are the leader pack from the Blue Moon line, and make for an excellent compliment to my British line infantry.
And as ever, hand painted banners might not have the crisp look of laser printed, but they certainly do match the colors and style of my hand-painted figures. There is some argument to be made that the banners used at the time were also handcrafted by tired men in muddy fields, and so also wouldn’t have the clean and crisp lines of a digital design produced by an automated factory. The little flaws in hand-painted banners lend them a certain credence and realism that the sterile machine produced banners lack.
Perhaps that sounds like an excuse. Whatever. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
